Hello Falcons!!
Week 3 included our first round of benchmark testing (MAP and IReady). Benchmark testing provides insight into academic performance, strengths, and areas of growth. Fontana will use this data to improve and inform our learning for the year. Benchmark testing is done 3 times/year and we will check back in during the winter. Here are FIVE things to know this week:
- Join the Fontana PTSO and Elyse Bullard Photography on Sunday, September 25th at Headwaters Park/Fontana Fen for some beautiful family photo sessions. Sessions are $200 for 15 minute sessions which includes all images (lightly edited), personal printing rights, and online gallery. Images delivered via downloadable link. $100 of each session is donated to PTSO for class field trips and more! Go to www.fontanaptso.org/photo to sign up for a timeslot.
- A subcommittee in our PTSO is the Cultural Arts Committee. The next meeting will be held at Fontana School on October 19th at 9:30am. More information linked HERE.
- Fontana school has a strong focus on college and career preparation. Historically, this programming has officially started in middle school, however, this school year we are excited to bring our preparation, exploration, and experiences in college and career readiness into grades 3-5. - Fontana School is committed to providing high quality programming for students, families, and our entire community. One way we do this is through Wednesday Parent meetings surrounding many different topics of interest. We offer programming all year long with our full-time social worker, community partners, and staff committed to wellness! Link HERE for more information.
- Donations have already started to come in for our annual (again for the first time since COVID) Fall Fun Fest. For a reminder, a link is HERE describing the basket theme for each grade level! This auction and donation supports our PTSO and student activities all year. Have fun with it and don't forget to mark your calendar for October 27th for Fall Fun Fest!
