Hello Falcons,
We are into double digits for the school year and finished week 10 today! We finished our first quarter for grades 6th-8th today and our first trimester will be finishing on December 3rd for grades 4k-5th grade. Our elementary team will have a few extra weeks to further assess, grade, and reinforce learning with the trimester timeline. Here are FIVE (plus one) things to know this week:
- Fontana School is always looking for substitutes. If you are interested in a flexible schedule, a great work environment, and the ability to create your own work schedule, please contact our office for more information. Varying levels of education and experience accepted.
- Come and cheer on our Falcons Volleyball team this Saturday, November 6th, at 8am. They play in the final tournament of the year at Big Foot High School. Let's go Falcons. Also, Boys Basketball is coming up next so be on the lookout for more information regarding our hoops season coming up.
- Every year the Geneva Lakes West Rotary Club recognizes staff from each area school for their "Service Above Self". We would like to open up our nomination to our entire school community as we know our incredible staff make a difference in many areas. Please complete the form by November 23rd, which is included HERE.
- This coming Thursday, November 11th, is Veteran's Day. Due to physical distancing and safety, we will be creating a virtual program honoring our courageous Veterans in place of our traditional assembly at the school this year. Thank you for your service!!
- For all middle school boys (6-8th grade) interested in playing basketball this winter in addition to our Falcons team, there will be "Little Chiefs" tryouts this Saturday, November 6th. HERE is a link with more information.
- (BONUS)Thank you to all of our families and students for their kind donations of Halloween candy to our troops. Our PTSO parents collected today and stated this may have been the most donated candy on record! Thank you and what a great follow up to our Penny Wars.
Thank you to all of our PTSO parents, Pearce Farms, and wonderful volunteers for all the exciting decorations, candy, and snacks these past few weeks. Our school has been decorated in Halloween and already shifted to Thanksgiving/Fall themes. Lastly, thank you to all of our dedicated staff for stepping up, stepping in, and going "all in" every day for our school family. Have a great weekend and don't forget (Fall Back on your clocks Saturday night).
