Hello Falcons!!
Week four has been a great transition from summer to fall. Our middle school met with our student council/national junior honor society staff to begin our leadership programming. We had high school volunteers come on Thursday this week to help complete our tents in the north playground along with painting the flag football field with Mr. Scott! Thank you Big Foot seniors! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
- Due to supply chain problems our lunch menu may be altered during the week. We are working our best to avoid any changes, and we will communicate as the menu changes arise.
- We continue to work with local health officials, State health departments, and our school medical director/nurse on the safety and health of our school. We have been monitoring some gastrointestinal bugs along with RSV in our area. Please see the attached document that outlines our plans to extend returning to school to 48 hours for some symptoms. Please call our office with any questions. Safety and health are our top priority.
- Next week is our celebration with Big Foot on Homecoming week. Monday is sports day, Tuesday is USA day, Wednesday is dress up/dress down, Thursday is celebrity day, and Friday is spirit day (wear your greatest Falcon gear)
- Next Friday, October 1st, is a half-day. Our release time is 11:20a on early release days.
- Did you know that Spanish is offered to all students at Fontana? We take a conversational language approach to our Spanish acquisition. The students learn each week different strategies and Spanish language.
Today we had our first real fire drill in almost two years. Our students and staff did a wonderful job and cleared the entire building in less than 2 minutes. This includes our daycare and little ones. Great job everyone and have a great weekend.
