Update

Hello Falcons!

Week 21 is in the books and has been our coldest week so far this school year.  The students are still getting outside, when possible, and our sledding hill remains a tradition we all love!  Please remember to dress for the weather and layer up Falcons!  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Next Thursday, February 3rd, Mr. Paul from Big Foot will be meeting with all 8th grade students to review and draft a high school schedule!  Please be sure your 8th grader has their folder and scheduling documents completed and with them.  If you have any specific high school transition needs, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office.  We are here every step of the way to support a smooth transition.
  2. Our 8th grade students typically visit and ice/snow sculpt at Winterfest each year and while we will not be attending in Lake Geneva, our middle school staff, Mrs. Anhalt, and students have been hard at work making snow molds and beginning our very own sculpting here at Fontana.  Be sure to keep an eye out for the great designs in our North Playground area.
  3. Each Falcon has been working hard on our benchmark MAP testing the last two weeks.  Any make up and final testing will be done individually with our teaching staff in the next week.  Thank you parents for having your Falcon here and ready to learn each day!
  4. I know many people are talking about the COVID vaccine and other topics surrounding COVID.  We continue to focus on safety in addition to high quality education everyday.  We are working with Walworth County and the State of Wisconsin to coordinate this process for our staff.
  5. Our current COVID numbers at Fontana are as follows:  We currently have no active/positive cases or pending COVID tests within our school with one person in quarantine.  Wisconsin, overall, has moved into phase 2, which means we are trending in the right direction.  Stay safe, stay vigilant, and thank you so much to our entire Falcon community for your hard work!!

We are into our 3rd quarter and we couldn't be more proud of our Falcon family.  Lastly, on our snow day this past Tuesday, a text message and voice message was sent out to all families in our mass communication system.  If you did not get an alert text or phone call, please let us know in the office so we can be sure you are in our system correctly.  Be safe and stay well Falcons!
