Update

Hello Falcons,

We have reached the mid-way point of the school year.  Week 19 is a wrap and our second quarter/first semester is coming to a close on January 20th.  Thank you to all of our parents/families/students for working so hard on the safe transition back to in person learning this week.  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Friday, January 22nd is an early dismissal for all students and there will not be aftercare that day.  Our dismissal for 4K-8th grade is 11:20am on early release days.  Daycare (3k and younger) will operate with normal hours.
  2. Don't miss out on our student support newsletter HERE.  You can also access information regarding our student support services at Fontana at our website www.fontana.k12.wi.us
  3. Reminder, if your Falcon student, or any household member has a pending COVID-19 test, all Falcon students will need to quarantine at home until the results of the test are known.  This is for the safety and precaution of our entire school.
  4. Our winter benchmark testing window will open this coming week.  Our middle school students will be taking the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test on 1/19 and 1/20.  Please be sure to get enough rest and a good breakfast to get your brain activated before testing.  Our K-1 students have already started Aimsweb testing, and our 2-5 grade students will complete MAP testing the week of January 25th.
  5. I know it seems early, but our 8th grade students will begin exploring classes and registration with Mr. AJ Paul from Big Foot starting on January 20th.  Yes, your 8th grader will soon be a high schooler and we will be supporting that transition with all of you.  Mr. Paul will return to Fontana February 4th to help develop a draft schedule with your 8th grader.

We look forward to a great second semester and can't wait to begin week 20 on Monday!!  Have a safe and restful weekend while cheering for a Packer victory :)
