Update

Hello Falcons,

Week 18 is in the books.  While virtual we continue to connect and learn each day.  Thank you for being a part of our continued proactive/safe approach during this COVID time that we live in.  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. We are fortunate to report that we have Zero (0) cases of COVID at Fontana School as of today.  That does not mean we let our guard down, but we must remain vigilant.  Please contact our confidential COVID hotline at 608-728-7851 with any updates, positive test results, questions, or close contact reports.  Your communication and teamwork is vital to our success.  Thank you.
  2. Many of you may be aware that the CDC has released new guidelines that can shorten a quarantine timeline with a negative test and some other factors.  At Fontana, we will continue to default to the original 14 day quarantine plan with close contacts/positive COVID cases, but we will also consider individual circumstances that are more in line with the new CDC guidelines as appropriate.  Please contact our office with any questions.
  3. Virtual learning found our students exploring literacy/math, virtual college visits, activity in specials, and active learning while at home.  Thank you families, for your teamwork in keeping our school community running smooth while learning remotely this week.  Well done everyone!
  4. Administratively, in the next few weeks, we will be meeting with Walworth County and other local health officials regarding vaccinations and other COVID health updates.  We do not have any directions or information at this time, but we will share and update everyone as this becomes more available.
  5. Our wonderful custodial staff spent this winter break deep cleaning the school, sanitizing, and spraying our additional guard/protection in each class.  Carpets are cleaned, floors/desks are deep cleaned and we are ready to get back to in person learning!  Thank you to our custodial staff at Fontana for preparing our school for safe learning!

Happy 2021 Falcons and thank you for a great start to our new year.  Have a great weekend and stay warm!  See you all back in person on Monday!
