Update

Hello Falcons,

Believe it or not, we have completed 15 weeks of school! This was our first week in about a month, where all students were together again in the building. We appreciate the buzz and socialization that comes with in person learning. We have 7 more learning days until our winter break. Here are FIVE things to know for this week.

  1. As of today, our school has 0 confirmed COVID cases (staff/students) and we have 6 (staff/students) in quarantine as close contacts. While this is good news, we all know that the community spread is happening. We continue to follow our safety protocol and require masks, social distancing, hand washing, and proper hygiene to support wellness.
  2. Our district is working with our Big Foot Area School partners and local health authorities to discuss the adjustments made by the CDC regarding quarantine requirements. As of today, Fontana will continue to follow our established quarantine guidelines attached HERE and we will consider individualized cases, as appropriate, to ensure safety is our first priority.
  3. We will be collecting our Sprint WiFi hotspots before winter break. Please contact our office to arrange a plan to collect/return your current hotspot. We have purchased new hotspots to replace the current model and we can arrange for replacements if you still require internet support.
  4. Sharon School District will be providing 6 days of breakfast/lunch meals on December 23rd from 11:30a to 1pm at their school. HERE is a link to sign up for this great opportunity for food over the holiday break. If you are unable to get out to Sharon, or if you need alternate arrangements, please contact storrez@fontana.k12.wi.us and we can work out a plan for your family. This is available for all household members that are 18 years old and younger.
  5. We will continue to be outside learning as much as possible. Please have your Falcon dress accordingly. We do have jackets and clothing available for those that could use some warmer clothes. Outside still remains the safest place for us all and we will take advantage of the weather any/all times we can. Please reach out to our social worker Nikki Christensen, if you need any support with winter clothing (nchristensen@fontana.k12.wi.us).

Have a great weekend Falcons and we look forward to a great finish to 2020! Stay well and be safe.
