Hello Falcons!!
We have completed week 28 of the 2024-25 school year. Spring seems to be in the air, but please remember to have your falcon dressed for outside recess, which can include all types of weather! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
The world premier of Super Falcon, our second movie presented by the Fontana Film Club is this weekend. Friday, March 14th at 7p and Saturday, March 15th at 2pm. Don't miss the second edition of the award winning Fontana Film Club!!
Our middle school students attended an Academic Bowl in Williams Bay last week and did very well. Fontana took 3rd place overall and 2nd place in current events. The following students won individual awards: 6th grade--Alonzo P. 3rd in math, Scarlett R. 3rd in Science. 7th grade--Andrew N. 3rd in math and Owen G. 2nd in Social Studies. 8th grade--Aubrey K. 2nd in Language Arts, Alex R. 2nd in Social Studies and Luke D. 1st in math. Way to go Falcons.
Our middle school also took part in the Great History Challenge, which is a national Jeopardy style competition. In the regional competition at Edison MIddle School in Janesville we had multiple students qualify for the nationals including Luke DeMarco, Dylan Goetsch, Conley Short, Richie Keller, and Andrew Nyman. Way to go!!
REMINDER--Spring break is the week of March 24th. Our main offices will be closed that week as well. The daycare will be open as normal for our 3k and younger families.
We strive for excellence toward self, others, and community daily. Some nominations this week include--1: All the Fontana families who donate their time, effort, goods, and talents are greatly appreciated. The volunteer hours you all put in are seen and appreciated. 2: Dylan Goetsch - helping his elderly neighbor with yard work and things around her house. 3: Mrs Ardito, she makes sure every kid gets into school safely everyday and especially those kids who are scared she takes them to class and helps them. I have been very grateful for her everyday! She remembers students names and greets everyone as they come into school. When you see EXCELLENCE be sure to nominate and recognize our community HERE.
PTSO Spotlight--The Cultural Arts Committee is excited to announce that our very own Sloan Sullivan will be our Visiting Artist on April 11th. Ms. Sullivan recently co-authored the book “Blueberries of Life” with her granddaughter. She will be reading her book and showing one of her television interviews. We are proud of her accomplishment and anyone is able to purchase the book if interested.
Have a great weekend Falcons, see you all Monday, and don't forget to come by and watch the soon-to-be world famous movie, Super Falcon, this weekend.
