Hello Falcons!!

This week, our 20th this school year, was kindness week. Our students, staff, and parents were extra kind this week and we even had a special appearance by Freddie the Falcon in the elementary wing this morning. Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Thank you to our PTSO, Ms. C, and all the support in planning/coordinating kindness week. We had hot fudge sundaes today to cap off the week. Students wrote kind notes, completed kindness BINGO cards, and earned prizes for their hard work. volunteering and kindness. Way to go Falcons!

  2. Congratulations to Mrs. Cathy Long for being nominated as our schools Rotary Service Above Self Award winner. Each year the Rotary recognizes a staff member from each school for their hard work and service above self. Cathy was nominated by her peers for her dedication to the school, students and community and for going above and beyond in all of her work. Way to go.

  3. Reminder, next Friday, January 24th is a staff inservice day. There is NO school for all 4k-8th grade students. Our daycare (3k and younger) will be open as normal. Enjoy the three day weekend.

  4. Thank you to the handful of parents that attend the "Let's Talk" with district administrator Steve Torrez on Wednesday. These monthly meetings are meant to increase communication, transparency, and connection between our school and our community. Our next "Let's Talk" will be February 12th at 8:30a at the Coffee Mill. See you there for coffee, Q/A, and conversation about the success of every student in Fontana!

  5. Congratulations to both the boys and girls basketball teams competing in the St. Andrews tournament. The Falcon girls play again this Saturday at 9am against Lincoln Academy. The Falcon boys play this Saturday at 10am against Lincoln Academy. All games are at St. Andrews in Delavan. See you there!

  6. BONUS--Our Excellence nomination form (anyone can nominate any students, staff, or community member any time) saw Mrs. Arditto once again recognized for her excellence toward others. Mrs ardito, she makes sure every kid gets into school safely everyday and especially those kids who are scared she takes them to class and helps them. I have been very grateful for her everyday! She remembers students names and greets everyone as they come into school.

  7. PTSO Spotlight--Hot Chocolate Fridays are coming in February!  Students enjoy hot chocolate with all the toppings!  The Cultural Arts Committee sponsors this event and asks for a donation of $0.50.  All proceeds benefit our Cultural Arts events.

  8. PTSO Spotlight 2--Save the date for our annual Winterfest!  Get ready for some bowling and raffles at Delavan Lanes on Sunday, March 2nd from 12:00-4:00.

Have a great weekend Falcons, stay warm, and see you all Monday!
