Hello Falcons!!

Week 19 was wonderful as we welcomed our amazing students, staff, and families back to school for the second half of the school year!! We were provided so many wonderful stories of holiday parties, family gatherings, and overall enjoyment with friends and family!! Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Thank you to Big Foot staff Mrs. Gregory, Mr. Anderson, and Ms. Rackey for providing our 8th graders with a wealth of knowledge on what it means to be a Chief, how to be successful in high school, and ensuring each student is given the resources to make informed decision on the class schedule.

  2. We had a group of students attend the Southern Lakes Math Meet at UW-Whitewater this past week. Congratulations to Andrew Nyman who finished 2nd overall in 7th grade. Additionally, our 7/8th grade team took 3rd overall out of 9 teams in our section. Way to go Falcons!!

  3. This coming week we will celebrate Kindness Week. January 13-17th we will have activities, learning, and prizes related to kindness and how helping others, and yourself, can be so rewarding! Each student will have a Kindness Bingo card with such things as "helping a neighbor" or "donating a book". All of our visitors are welcomed to leave a kindness note in our kindness jar at the front office.

  4. On January 14th the Big Foot girls basketball team will have their "Youth Night" and invite all elementary and middle school girls to come and enjoy the game, take part in some pre-game and half-time activities and connect with our girls high school basketball families. All children wearing their youth, middle school, or chief gear will get in for free. See you there!

  5. Have you seen a community member, family member, teacher, child, or parent doing excellent things for self, others, or community? Nominate them HERE so we can celebrate all of the excellence around us each day.

  6. PTSO Spotlight--Join us for our next Cultural Arts meeting on Wednesday, January 15th at 8:30am at school.  Please consider volunteering for our Hot Chocolate Fridays in February.  Email Genny Miller at gohlenroth@gmail.com

for more information or to sign up.

  7. PTSO Spotlight 2--The PTSO needs you!  Many of our members and officers have students that are in 8th grade so we need your leadership to keep the PTSO going.  Please contact Margaret Labus for more information at margaret@starboard-group.com

Have a great weekend Falcons and see you all back Monday!!
