Hello Falcons!!
Week 11 brought us to mid-November, which tells us we are heading into our colder months...maybe. For now, we have been able to enjoy mild temperatures outside for recess and exploration outside. Here are FIVE things to know this week:
Our 4k and 5k had a walking field trip to the Fontana Fire Department. There, they were able to see the trucks, meet the brave people who keep us safe, and learn about fire safety. Thank you to the Fontana FD for hosting our 4k/5k learners this week!
Thank you to our Veterans who attended the Veteran's Day assembly this past Monday. Our 5th graders always do a great job with the assembly and our choir did an amazing job singing. Well done and we thank all of the brave military Veteran's for keeping us, and our freedoms, safe.
Today we hosted Camp Timberlee staff and some animals for our students learn about while being able to get an up close and personal experience. All the students were excited to get "hands on" learning with some animals at our assembly. Thank you Timberlee!
We had our third annual Talent Show this Friday and the performances were incredible. It takes such bravery, time and skill to get up in front of a crowd to perform. Each student was fantastic and thank you to our staff, parents, and students for creating an environment at Fontana where students can explore and create without judgement and with enthusiasm! Well done.
This Monday, November 18th, we will have our annual Penny Wars to raise money for local food pantries during the holiday season. Last year we raised over $700 that went right into our local food pantries. Our National Junior Honor Society and student council go grocery shopping with the money to purchase food and supplies needed in our area during the holidays. You can also donate non-perishable food items in our entry way. We are competing against Elkhorn, Delavan and Lake Geneva to see who can "Hunt out Hunger"!! Let's go Falcons!!
PTSO Spotlight--Our annual Crafty Critters event will take place on Friday, December 13th. This is a fun opportunity for students in grades 4k-5th to make crafts for their loved ones. Students will select the 3 crafts they would like to make on Friday, December 6th. We are looking for volunteers to help on both dates. Please use this link https://signup.com/go/fZLTNad to sign up today!
PTSO Spotlight 2--We will once again be selling poinsettias to decorate the stage for our upcoming winter concert on December 12th. Forms were sent home to all families and posted to Class Dojo for middle school families. All order forms are due Thursday, December 5th.
Thank you Falcons and have a great weekend. Don't forget to support our high school Falcons performing this weekend in Big Foot's performance of Cinderella (Fri/Sat @ 7pm, Sun at 2pm). See you Monday!
