Hello Falcons!!
Week 2 , our first full week of school, was a huge success. We had our first fire drill of the year and our students/staff did an amazing job, in partnership with the Fontana Fire Department, to ensure our school and students know the safety protocol in the event of a fire. Here are FIVE things to know this week:
Our cross country and flag football teams had their first events this week. Our combined (Big Foot Area Schools) cross country team did amazing and we had multiple students finish in the top 10, which is great. Our flag football teams won both games at Williams Bay on Thursday as well! Way to go Falcons!! Don't miss the CC team in action on September 16th at Big Foot High School starting at 4:30p, and our flag football team takes on Walworth on Tuesday, September 17th at Duck Pond at 4pm (B game only).
Every year, when students and staff head back to school, we encounter some illnesses and different adjustments with the new year. We have a great health staff taking care of our school in Mrs. Booth and Mrs. Lohse. We have attached a NOTE HERE with some health information and updates. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions.
Great job to all of our 3-8th grade students that completed their benchmark testing this past week. We complete benchmark testing 3-4x/year to track progress, adjusting teaching strategies, and ensure our learning targets are being met by all students. This benchmark also allows students learning paths to be individualized to their "level" regardless of grade. This helps with our growth mindset, which is our commitment to have ALL students grow and learn at high levels.
We are improving, but we cannot stress enough the safety and mindfulness needed during pick up and drop off each day. If you plan to walk in with your student, please park your car and walk in using the cross walk. Also, please do not open your car doors on the left side if at all possible as there is a long line of traffic on the left side of the circle drive. We are currently getting through our pick up line in approximately 10 minutes and our goal is to get our pick up line moving from beginning to end in about 6-8 minutes. WE got this Fontana!
If you haven't checked out our Spirit Store we have included the link HERE. On our website you can find all sorts of great gear that can be individualized as well! Our school earns a percentage of all sales that we put right back into our students and staff each year!
