Hello Falcons!!
Our summer keeps on moving! Week 8 brought us into August and our last month before the first day of school on September 3rd! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
Our back to school nights are as follows:
August 27th from 5-6p is 4k/5k open house. This includes meeting the teacher, checking out the classroom, bus rides and more.
August 29th from 5-6:30p is our all school welcome back night. Students can meet their teacher(s), check out the school, and drop off supplies.
September 3rd is the first day of school. Doors open for school at 8am and school starts at 8:15a. Our dismissal is 3:30p each day.
We will have one change to our schedule this year on early release days. Our dismissal time on early release days will move to 11:45a this school year. This is 25 minutes later than it has been in the past to enable all school in the Big Foot Area Schools to collaborate and get our dismissal times closer together.
It's not too late for anyone interested in considering alternate open enrollment at Fontana. Mrs. Schanau is our open enrollment coordinator or you can contact Steve Torrez with questions or considerations for Fontana this coming year.
Our two week summer school boot camp started this week. We have 28 students enrolled and participating in math, reading/ELA, and fun enrichment activities such as cooking, outdoor activities, croche, and more!
Don't miss our Tuesday summer reading/math challenge along with our fun activity in the gym from 10-12 each Tuesday. This Tuesday, August 6th you can join us in the Fontana School gym for some polka, dancing and fun!! From 11-12p we have snacks, and fun reading/math for anyone interested.
PTSO SPOTLIGHT--Did you know that students whose parents are involved in school have better attendance and behavior, get better grades, demonstrate better social skills and adapt better to school? One opportunity for your involvement is through the Fontana PTSO. Be on the lookout for our calendar of events for the upcoming school year. Reach out to Margaret Labus, PTSO president, at
to be added to the email distribution list.
Have a great weekend Falcons! If you are free this Saturday, August 3rd, the annual Rotary Corn and Brat Fest is at Devil's Lane Park in Walworth from 11a to 7p and entertainment until 9p. See you there!
