Hello Falcons!!

Our summer break keeps on moving as we finished week 7 this past week. You know it is summer break when the festivals start rolling around each weekend. This past weekend we had the annual Lion's Club Steak and Lobster Boil, which is always a hit in Reid Park!! Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Our Falcon Ecology Club was back on the lake doing a plant survey with the Geneva Lake Environmental Agency (GLEA) and others. They tested the health and habitat of our beautiful lake. Great job Ecology Club, which is led by Mrs. Rabe and Mrs. Booth and thank you to Jake Schmidt from GLEA for always working on unique ways to engage our students in active learning to keep our local ecology healthy.

  2. Fontana is looking for a full-time (school year) classroom/special education aide for the upcoming school year. Please contact Steve Torrez (storrez@fontana.k12.wi.us) if you are interested. This position supports multiple aged classrooms with math, reading, and other needs as assigned. Typical work hours are 7:45a to 3:45p Monday through Friday.

  3. Welcome to Lindsay Paulson who will be a long-term maternity substitute in our building this coming year. She will be supporting 2nd grade in the first semester and 3rd grade after winter break. She is a Big Foot graduate and we are excited for her to start her teaching career right here in Fontana!

  4. Our safe/secure entrance project is coming right along!! Please note, there may be additional cutting of a doorway in our main entrance this week. We do not have a firm date, but there is a high probability that the main entrance will be busier than normal this week.

  5. We are super excited to welcome our Summer School BootCamp this Monday, July 29th. Our summer school runs from 9a-12p each day. We can't wait to get started with our group of summer school students to help prepare and have fun ahead of the new school year.

  6. IMPORTANT DATES: Our 4k/5k open house is August 27th from 5-6pm. Our welcome back open house is August 29th from 5-6:30p and our first day of school for all Falcons is Tuesday September 3rd. Our school day is 8:15a (doors open at 8a) and dismissal is 3:30p.

Have a great week Falcons! Don't miss the Corn and Brat Fest sponsored by the Geneva Lake West Rotary this coming Saturday, August 3rd across the street from Big Foot!
