Hello Falcons!!

Week 37 was our final full week of the 23/24 school year!! We are heading into the final two weeks of school and our students continue to amaze in their focus on learning and community. This time of year we also see more of the family aspect of school with field trip volunteers, activities inside/outside of school, and after school events like our spring concert. Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Our half-day early release school days are intentional and a part of our continuous learning/improvements as a school. This time allows our staff time to collaborate, review, plan, and complete needed professional development. One meeting this past week was with our mentor/mentee check in. Our mentoring staff have done a tremendous job modeling and coaching how to live "Whatever it Takes" at Fontana. Our mentees have been amazing at stepping into our school and committing to "Every Student, Every Day". Thank you.

  2. The wait is over! You can now own Klay Kong

on DVD! The disc is packed with extra features, including a behind the scenes look at the production, deleted scenes, an alternate ending, and more! The movies can be purchased in the front office, or from Mr. McCanna for $10 each. Cash, or check made out to Fontana Elementary is accepted. It will have you saying "HOLY GUACAMOLE!"

  3. Our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students had a great time at the Discovery Museum this past week. This traditional field trip is a fun experience to learn, explore, and enjoy Milwaukee with their classmates.

  4. If you can believe it, our 8th graders are down to their last week as Falcon students. Our 8th grade promotion ceremony is this Thursday, May 30th!! We are grateful to our 7th grade parents who help coordinate/decorate this event along with Mrs. Ziganto!! See you Thursday and looking forward to a great event again this year to celebrate our oldest Falcons!!

  5. We are so excited to once again partner with the Fontana Public Library to bring activities, learning, and opportunities for continuous learning. Our first Tuesday activity will be June 18th for an amazing Magic Show!! All students are challenged to complete 50 minutes of math and reading weekly as well. Prizes and more for those willing to accept the challenge! More information and flier included! Additionally, we are offering a summer school bootcamp from July 29th to August 9th! Contact Mrs. Jackson for more information (jjackson@fontana.k12.wi.us)

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend and remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our Country. See you Tuesday!! The last day of school (early release at 11:20a) is Tuesday June 4th!!
