Hello Falcons!!

Week 35 included more field trips and, learning, and fun. We had our 2nd and 3rd graders visit Mainstay Farms in Spring Grove, IL to explore and read to the animals. We also had a small group of students experience the arts immersion trip with Mr. McCanna where they were able to expand, learn, and perform in the arts. Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. As many of you know May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This coming week we will have "HOPE WEEK" where our Falcon Hope Squad will have prizes, positive messages and of course, dress up days. Don't miss Monday, which is Comfy Day where everyone will come dressed in your most comfortable outfit! This Friday is also our 3rd annual Walk for Wellness where we hope to exceed our fundraising from last year to achieve $3000 toward mental health support in our communities! LINK HERE and see you Friday at Duck Pond!

  2. ALERT--Please note that our Spring Concert will be moving to Fontana Elementary this Thursday, May 16th from 7-8pm for all 4-8th grade choir/band students. This is being moved from Big Foot (original location) to Fontana Elementary (new location). Students are to report to Fontana school at 6:30p in preparation of the concert.

  3. Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19th! Fontana Film Club's

    Klay Kong

will be shown at the Plaza Theater in Burlington as an official entry in the Chocolate City International Short Film Festival! It will be competing in the "Young Filmmakers" category. The event takes place from

3:00-5:00pm on Sunday, May 19th at Burlington Plaza Theater.

The event is free, with a suggested donation to Love Inc. food pantry. Come celebrate the cinematic achievements of our talented falcons and other filmmakers across the globe!

  4. Summer School is coming with many fun activities, learning, and presentations in collaboration with the Fontana Public Library! Please complete the interest LINK HERE and please know this is just an interest form and more specific registration will come. Thank you.

  5. Our middle school Falcons completed their final benchmark testing (done 3 times/year for progress monitoring) in English and they will finish with Math this coming week. All other Falcons will complete both English and Math this coming week. Get your rest, breakfast and we are excited for our students to show off their growth in learning.

Happy Mother's Day to all!! Have a great weekend and see you Monday!!
