School update

Hello Falcons!!

Just when you couldn't imagine a more bizarre winter, we had spring and winter all in the same day today.  What started as clear skies and warm weather ended in snow and freezing temperatures.  Couldn't say Wisconsin in any better way I suppose.  Here are FIVE things to know this week:

  1. Today was our first night of Forensics.  We had so much creativity, fun, and interesting work done today after school.  It's not too late to join Forensics, which provides a wonderful platform to learn public speaking skills along with courage, confidence, and relationship building!  Click the LINK HERE to sign up and learn more!
  2. Our annual Science Fair is less than a week away.  Our STEAM community partners have doubled this year and we couldn't be more proud of the work our students, staff, and community are putting in this year!  Don't miss our Science Fair this Thursday, February 29th from 5-7pm at Fontana School.
  3. Don't miss out on our Kringle PTSO fundraiser.  Orders with payment/spreadsheet need to be in by Monday 2/26/2024 to the school office.  Delivery is on Thursday, March 14th.  Pick up at the Fine Arts Fair or schedule pick up from school with Stacy Becker at stacy.normington@gmail.com.  This Fundraiser supports the PTSO funding for different school field trips and activities.
  4. Fine Arts Night is coming up on March 14th from 5:30p to 7p at Fontana School.  There will be so much art, music, and fun the entire evening.  This long standing tradition at Fontana showcases the passion and focus on the arts during and outside the school day.  Come one, come all!
  5. Earlier this school year, students in grades 3 through 8 were offered the chance to enter works of art or creative writing to the Southern Lakes Anthology. The Southern Lakes Advanced Learners Network annually publishes a collection of student work that is centered around a specific theme. This year, the theme was What if?.  The anthology is very selective, and each student entry must progress from their ELA or art instructor's approval, to a school committee, and finally to a judging conference in Whitewater. We are thrilled that twenty works were recommended as finalists and seven of our talented Falcons, across multiple grade levels, were chosen for this distinctive honor! Congratulations to Kendall, Alyvia, Dylan, Finn, Divya, Audrianna, and Lily.

Have a great weekend Falcons as we head into our final week in February!  March here we come.  See you Monday!
