Hello Falcons!!
Week 21 of our school year means that we are officially past the half-way point of 23/24 already!! February brings a second round of benchmark testing for many of our students along with sights set on finishing our winter sports to prepare for spring track! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
- As you know, our middle school (6-8 grade) students work on quarter and semester grades as they prepare for high school grading cycles. Our middle school report cards for second quarter (first semester) were mailed out on Friday to all families. Also, if you prefer electronic versions, you are able to access your child's report card through your parent Infinite Campus portal. If you are unsure or unable to access Infinite Campus please connect with Mrs. Long at clong@fontana.k12.wi.us and she can make sure you have proper access.
- We are excited to offer our annual 4K/5K Screening and meet/greet on March 1st, 2024 from 1:30p to 3:30p at Fontana Elementary School. For more information and/or to get signed up please contact Mrs. Devin Dennis at ddennis@fontana.k12.wi.us or at 262-275-6881 ext. 237. Flier attached below for more details. We can't wait to have our newest Falcons in to see our classrooms, staff, and school!
- Starting this Monday, February 5, 2024 the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) opens the the window for Open Enrollment. In Wisconsin, families have the option to explore school districts outside of their home residence. For more information the news release from DPI is attached HERE. At Fontana, our open enrollment specialist is Mrs. Wendy Schanau and she can be contacted at wschanau@fontana.k12.wi.us for more information about open enrollment at Fontana. You are also welcome to reach out directly to Mr. Steve Torrez (storrez@fontana.k12.wi.us), administrator, for questions, visits, and tours.
- Our wonderful Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) was in full force this Friday for our first of four "Hot Chocolate Friday's" in February. This amazing tradition has our parent volunteers serving hot chocolate to students during their lunch time. So fun and thank you to all of our PTSO families who donate time, money, and sweet treats this entire month!!
- One of the extension activities we our students have the opportunity to participate in is the Southern Lakes Anthology art/writing contest. Winners are chosen and published in the Annual Anthology Publication. In the last three years we have added an additional student in the publication. This year 7 of our Falcons will be published and we are excited to share more soon! Way to go Falcons and keep up the great work.
Have a great weekend Falcons and we look forward to seeing everyone Monday!
