Hello Falcons!
Week 16 of our 23/24 school year was our first full week off since September for our holiday break. Today is our last day of 2023, which is a good time to reflect on all we have accomplished so far, while also looking forward to an even better 2024! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
- Fontana worked together with Walworth, Reek, and Big Foot Schools to collect food donations as part of the "Hunt out Hunger" program started by Brad Wilson and the DNR. We are happy to report that between our schools, Delevan/Darien schools, and Lake Geneva schools we collected over 1000 pounds of food for local food pantries. Our BFASA schools retained the deer trophy for collecting the most food!
- We are thrilled that our school report card went up over 9 points from last school year. We have put our emphasis on every student learning/growing, every day and that has shown to be successful moving from a score of 67.1 to 76.3 in one year. We will be working hard to continue our growth and improvements heading into 2024 and beyond.
- We are proud of our cross country, volleyball, flag football, and boys basketball teams for winning the league play this fall/winter. Great coaching, teamwork, and improvement with each game. We look forward to our girls basketball season starting when we return from winter break and our track season in the spring.
- Our winter break goes through January 2nd. Our first day back with students will be Wednesday, January 3rd. See you Wednesday!!
- We have added a new, easy way to report your child absent. You can visit our website and click the tab "report an absence" and fill out the quick/simple form. That way you can fill out the form any time. You are still able to call your child in, but we are offering another way to make it easier for our families to report an absence.
Happy New Year Falcons and see you on Wednesday January 3rd!!
