Hello Falcons!!
What a productive week 7 from elementary all the way through middle school! Thank you again to Mr. Raskin, Big Foot band director, for coming by to work with our middle school band and to all of our PTSO and cultural arts parents for planning and working in the school in preparation for Fall Fun Fest!! Community and collaboration make us all stronger/better! Here are FIVE things to know this week:
- Our Fall Fun Fest is a night of fun, food, and Halloween activities. Our entire school is transformed into a Halloween wonderland, including a world famous haunted house. This event is huge and is run by volunteers and Fontana staff that come for the evening. HERE is a link for information, including volunteer sign-up sheets. See you Thursday at 5p!
- Our 7th graders had an amazing trip to Yerkes Observatory this past week where they had a guided tour of the newly renovated facility, including a close up look at the world's largest refracting telescope. The day is concluded with a beautiful nature walk along the one-of-a-kind Lake Geneva Lake Path.
- Our 4k and 5k students took their annual field trip to the Royal Oaks Farm. What a great outdoor learning experience for our youngest learners that includes delicious farm treats!
- REMINDERS--Fall Fun Fest is Thursday, October 26th from 5-7:30pm with our middle school dance to immediately follow. Additionally, there is no school on Friday October 27th (non-attendance day). Our daycare (3k and younger) is open as usual on the 27th.
- If you haven't tried it out yet, make a point to attend our wellness exercise classes on Monday's from 4-4:45p at the school. Our wellness consultant, Natasha Schultz, does an amazing job individualizing for all ability levels to get a good sweat in each Monday. This is open to all community members at no cost. We look forward to seeing you Monday!!
- BONUS--If your middle school son or daughter plans to play basketball this year for Fontana please be sure to check out our basketball store HERE. Our new uniforms will allow our families to order their own shorts, to keep and individualize to your size/needs/likes.
Have a great weekend Falcons and if you have time on Saturday the Big Foot Chiefs soccer team plays at 7pm for the Regional Championship! Be there to cheer on the Chiefs!!
